Play Ball!!

We had "opening day" for baseball this weekend and Jacob is playing in the minor league this year. The biggest change is they bat against pitchers, not a machine. Jacob was not very excited to play outfield for the game, but I tried to tell him that every position is important, especially at this level because the kids can hit the ball farther. I don't think he bought any of that, but he did cheer up a little. I didn't get any action shots of Jacob. (There was not a lot of action and I was a little nervous for him.)

Jacob played best bud, Triston, on Saturday. They never can get on the same team.

Riley had a great game. He was trying so hard to hit a "homerun" that he had several misses on the T. Once he slowed down and kept his eyes on the ball, he had a good hit. Riley also played great defense. He got three outs in one inning. He was so proud of himself, that he has told everyone that has asked. Jacob and Riley's next games are Thursday night at the same time.

Kelly's New Toy

It finally arrived from Kansas. (or was it Nebraska... I can't remember and Kelly is not home.) Our new combine arrived a week or so ago and I finally made it out to the field this week to see the "toy" that cost more than our house. Since moving to the South Plains, we have always had our grains custom harvested. Kelly decided that it was time to do it ourselves and spent a good amount of winter looking for the right machine. Here she is. The kids thought she was pretty cool, too.

You cannot have a grain combine with out a grain cart.

Snack Time

The other day I poured Kyle a few puffs, set the puff container on the fire place and left the room. I am sure you can figure out where I made my mistake. I came back to this.

Kyle thought he could handle more than three or four at a time.

Kindergarten Field Trip

I tagged along on the Kindergarten Field Trip on Monday to the Discovery Center in Lubbock. We had a great time and everyone made it home safe and sound. I cannot imagine keeping up with a class of Kindergartners everyday, I was exhausted after our trip to the Discovery Center!

Riley is top row, 3rd from the right... the tall one!

100 POINTS!!!

Jacob has been working very hard to get 100 AR points before the end of the year and he hit his goal last Friday. We celebrated with a cookie cake and a trip to Clovis for Shogun's and the batting cages. (We look for any reason to celebrate at Shogun's!!) All 3rd graders that make 100 points get to paint a ceiling tile in the school. Jacob will get to paint his tile in a few weeks and I am sure I will have pictures later.

Red and Black Game

Jacob, Kyle and I went to Lubbock for the Texas Tech Spring Football Game this past Saturday in Lubbock. Jacob participated in the kid's clinic Saturday morning. During the clinic, several of the Tech players took the kids out on the field at Jones stadium and played a few games with them. Jacob had a blast and is now considering playing football for Tech again.... I am not sure why he thinks that he needs to decide where he wants to go to college right now. Jacob also thought UT might work because he could live with Aunt Dorothy and they could eat at Furr's every night. I will try to remind him of that when he is in high school. Anyhow... back to the Tech Spring Game... after the kid's clinic we stayed for the Spring Game. It was fun getting a sneek peak of what to expect in the Fall. Kyle was a trooper and slept through the game part. After the game, we went down on the field again and Jacob got autographs from some of the players. Mike Leach and Taylor Potts had LONG lines, so we skipped them. We had so much fun and hope Kelly and Riley will join us next year!

Easter in Mason

Before we headed to Mason for Easter, Riley had his school party. (Jacob decided to skip his party, so we could get on the road.)

Egg hunting with Tobin..

Checking out the prize...

Snacks and candy... can't go wrong there!

We had a great time in Mason. We visited with family and friends and loved on Clara.

After church we tried to get a few pictures....

I tried to get a picture of my three boys, but one of them was not cooperating.
