Toddlers are so much FUN!

I am not being serious. I had typed an entire blog with pictures and Kyle came along and somehow erased the entire thing when I was in the other room. So, I am not going to spend the same amount of time typing out the second edition. I am busy keeping Kyle out of cabinets, drawers, rooms, papers and whatever else he seems to find. (Right not there is a mysterious sound coming from the kitchen. He must be pulling out the pots and pans, again.) And then there are the times when there is no sound and you know there is a major problem. Next time you see me, ask about losing Kyle in the house and where we found him. Keeping up with Kyle is a full time job!

His curiosity about life is fun to watch. When Kyle picks up a toy (or kitchen utensil he stole from one of my drawers) he studies it and makes the cutest faces. He is learning about everything and we can truly see it. It amazes me how much Kyle understands. He does not talk much at all besides baby gargle, but he knows exactly what we are talking about even when we are not talking to him. I can tell Jacob to go take a bath and Kyle will be right behind him pulling his shirt off. He is too funny.

The other day I came into the living room to find Kyle sitting in his chair with my book. What a cutie! He knew I had spent most of the day looking at that thing and he was trying to figure out what was so interesting about it.



Kyle had his first haircut on January 8th. I asked a neighbor to come down and help me out and she was almost done with the cut before Kyle even realized what was going on.

Pig Show

What a weekend! Jacob participated in his first stock show this past weekend. He had three pigs; Lucy, Tom and Cupcake. For a fist timer, Jacob did very well! He received a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in his different classes and he sold 2 pigs in the sale on Saturday. (Each student is only allowed to sell 2 and there are several that did not make the sale at all.) Jacob is already planning on next year and he wants to go to Houston. I have a year to think about the Houston Show.

Riley and Best Friend, Bode. They participated in the pee wee show and received 1st place. (Everyone received a blue ribbon in the pee wee show, but Riley has been telling everyone that he got 1st.)

IT"S A GIRL!!

After the Cotton Bowl, we headed back to Mason to pick up the boys and we got to meet our new little niece. Clara made an early appearance on January 3rd weighing in at 7 pounds 10 ounces. Everyone is tickled pink to have a new little girl in the family. She is beautiful and we can't wait to get back to Mason to love on her some more.

Christmas 2008

Better late than never. Here are a few pictures from our Christmas holidays. We traveled 2000 miles in 10 days and never left Texas. The boys had a great time. We celebrated Christmas at home with the candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve and Santa on Christmas morning.

On December 26th, we left for Mason to celebrate with Kelly's family.

I got to catch up with my friend, Jenna, who lives in Eden now and Kristi, who is in Killeen. I miss you girls! Kristi was smart enough to get a few pictures. (I hope the link works this time!)

Kelly and I loaded up the family and took a mini vacation to Austin and San Antonio while we were in Mason. We showed the boys the state capital and saw Aunt Dot.

We also made it to Sea World for the day. I think the boys are getting into the big rides more than the shows these days.

I did lose Kelly, Jacob and Riley at the end of the day and had no life on my cell phone. That made things a little interesting, but we eventually found each other. It reminded me of life before cell phones. How did we ever survive without them?

We got to meet Matt and Diana's new little girl, Sophia. What a cutie! (Why did I forget to get my camera out? Maybe I was busy making sure my 3 monkeys behaved.)

Kelly and I headed back to Mason to unload the monkeys and repack for a fun filled trip to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl. No need to remind anyone how that turned out. (Yes, it was embarrassing!) We had a great time with friends Alice and Jim Bob and Katherine and Chris. Chris made the day a little more exciting when he was admitted into the hospital for tonsillitis but he is doing fine now. We really enjoyed our time off from being mom and dad. Thanks to Mimi and Pawpaw for watching the boys.
